Sulfides For IR Applications
Many sulfide glasses have excellent glass forming characteristics, wide infrared transmission range and high refractive indices. These chalcogenides are typically produced from the elements and, where appropriate, are purified by closed system vapor transport.

Most can be supplied in purities ranging from 99.9% to +99.999%.

Custom Coated Powders
A range of custom coated powders is available for research, development and larger scale applications.  Coatings are applied via solution chemistry and chemical vapor deposition.

Metals
A wide range of metals may be deposited via aqueous chemistries and, at higher temperatures via chemical vapor deposition.  Primarily, we specialize in the deposition of coatings on to particulates where improved thermal or electrical management is required.

Oxides
Many binary and complex oxides are available for deposition onto particulates or reticulated metallic or ceramic bodies, where specific properties such as catalytic activity, surface modification of dielectric/conductivity characteristics, optical characteristics, and the requirement for hydrophobic coatings is required.

Fluorides
In general, fluorides are employed for their chemical inertness, and optical qualities, through thin film interference effects they impart to suitable substrates.  Most applicable fluorides have very low solubilities in aqueous systems, and are deposited via specialized and proprietary methods.

Chemical Vapor Deposition Materials
Lorad has produced a range of volatile chelates for the atmospheric or reduced pressure deposition of sulfide and selenide thin films.  Deposition rates are, typically, 10-100nm/minute.  Under suitable growth conditions, these materials produce very low carbon residues, coatings have low scatter, good adhesion, and show typical columnar growth modes.

With appropriate solvents, many of these materials may be employed in an aerosol thin film deposition system.  Application assistance is available.

Materials are supplied in purities of +99.99%(metals basis).
